I’ve seen some clips of your PTD Concert in the US (I’ll buy it later ❤️😘🤗) I love seeing how happy you’ve been, Taehyung-ah, having fun and loving what you do. I also love to see how much loved you’ve been by sooo many fans and armys in the concert. All of us were cheering for you. I wonder what wishes you had back then. You surely have missed doing a concert in front of armys after a long while. Looking at how successful you are since your PTD concert, I feel super grateful and happy.
Things must have been very unpredictable for you and BTS since the pandemic, Taehyung-ah, and I think the best way you can do with that situation is to grab the good opportunities coming your way and make the best out of them so their impact and benefits can stay with you for a long time. I’m just worried that because you get to pursue things that you haven’t scrutinized first, you’ll surely meet parts of them that will make you regretful too. But I hope you’ll still be able to say you’ve earned more and got more of the good than the harm, that’s why, whenever there is something, be it an opportunity or simply something that is asked of you to do, where you have to give up or sacrifice your time, money, and effort, you have to make sure that it is necessary and that you were not scammed, tricked, used, or taken advantage of. Remember to always build on your strengths, talents, and anything you’re good at, because as you do your best and grow and expand them, you’ll find a lasting satisfaction and pride for them which no one can ever degrade or belittle.
We’re all sooo happy and sooo proud of you, Taehyung-ah. You’ve reached incredible heights and we know you’ll keep soaring higher (just remember to be happy and healthy and not to let anyone opposing you steal your motivation, optimism, and affect your willpower to demonstrate your talents and reach your full potential). I remember how you kept trending worldwide then. You even released your romantic K-OST, Christmas Tree, so suddenly too, which charted impressively on worldwide charts despite the toughest competition of the year for music since everyone will likely be playing Christmas songs. It has also made history as the first K-OST to chart in Billboard Hot 100, all while not having any official promotions.
You’ve also set two world records on Guinness when you opened your personal (or professional) instagram account, as it became the fastest to reach 10M and 20M followers on Instagram. Since then, you’ve been setting and breaking records not just in music but also in fashion and spreading Korean cultural awareness to the rest of the world. We won’t ever forget how you were so splendid in Paris Fashion Week, how you broke history in ktwon4u for Vogue Korea, how you got so many luxury items sold out, even including your very own Mute Boston bag that was sold out in seconds (the lip balm from before also got sold out everywhere in a very short peiod of time), as well as Celine’s and Cartier’s ultra-expensive items sold out worldwide and getting their sites crashed due to incredibly high visitor traffic, and even contributing to the 1 Trillion KRW sales of ramyeon as you were seen loving to eat it on Jinny’s Kitchen.
Who could forget how you have contributed to the 51% increase in Celine’s sales, making it the highest fashion luxury brand in the list released this year? With your own group, BTS, also in that brand list, we’re all happy that you are a powerful icon that represent not just one but two power brands in the world today. Your own album, Layover, has also been setting and breaking records not only in South Korea but also to the rest of the world, selling over 2M copies and breaking the record set almost three decades ago all on your own (and despite rampant sabotage and less promotions) and contributing to about 71%, or contributing the highest, in Hybe’s third quarter album sales. It has also been the longest-running album by a Korean soloist in the this, or the past decade, in France, Austria, New Zealand, Portugal, USA, and Japan, while it has charted in impressively in European countries and worldwide not only in physical sales but also in digital, making you the best-selling Korean act at the time of your Layover release, and one of the best-selling Korean acts today.
I love to keep repeating how you’re an incredible power, Taehyung-ah. I also really love how you were frequently quoted in your UN and White House speeches, and how even some of your fans and armys are still sharing those quotes on social media. You’re rightfully Seoul’s Tourism ambassador, Taehyung-ah. Your birthday celebrations were also super splendid, becoming a whole tourist spot on their own. I’ve been very excited when you visited them yourself back in 2021. I wonder if you’ve also seen the mural in Daegu which had been reported as a tourist spot mainly sought after by Japanese tourists, and even published in some tour guide books. I want to eat the Yakgwa cookies you last shared on your live. I’ll wait until they become available here.
Congratulations to all the wonderful achievements you’ve gotten for the recent years. You’ve shaken the world, or the mass and social media, with numerous massive, and positive, news. I know you’ll surely have more amazing achievements in the days, weeks, months, years, and decades to come.
For tonight and tomorrow, the MAMA 2023 awards are coming to a conclusion, and it’s a great thing that you’ve been nominated the most this year, 4 (or 5) nominations, particularly for 2 Album of the Year with Layover (Daesang), Song of the Year with Love Me Again (Daesang), Best Male Artist, and Best Vocal Performance Male Solo with Love Me Again. You’ve also been nominated in other Korean music awards like MMA, K-music, and SMA. For MMA, you’ve already won MMA 2023 Idol of the Year award and got nominated for a Million Top 10 album. For K-music, you already won Best K-music Artists and Best K-music. For SMA, you’ve also won 8 Fan Choice of the Year awards.
Not only that, you’ve also won a several physical trophies and plaque for your songs, Love Me Again, Slow Dancing, and Christmas Tree from South Korea’s popular music shows and charts, Mnet, Music Bank, MelOn, and others in this, or in the recent, years. I’ll look for that fan post that curated a list of your trophies this year. I’ve been truly grateful that you shined in Korean content – music, fashion (items, brand ambassador, magazine covers) entertainment/reality shows, cultural awareness – this, or in the recent years, Taehyung-ah.
With all these achievements, you can expect a lot of praises, and also a lot of antis, Taehyung-ah, but I hope you’ll be smiling more, knowing that you’re achieving a lot and you’ve been making more of your dreams into a reality. I really hope nothing can stop you, or that you won’t let anyone stop you, from gaining more, growing more, and becoming more of an amazing and accomplished, successful person that you wanted to be. We’re all worried and afraid for your military enlistment soon (I hope it won’t happen soon, but that it be postponed until two years when you reached 30, or that it won’t ever happen to you, Taehyung-ah). But even then, I know you’ll be able to thrive because you believe in yourself and you also believe in us and all the things and value (monetary or honorary) that you have already proven and you have already accomplished. Nothing can beat preparation, hard work, positivity, and strategy or wisdom, right? Keep the positive momentum, Taehyung-ah, by doing what you love.
