Hi, Taehyung-ah ππ€ How are you today? I hope that you’re eating properly, sleeping properly, and living a healthy lifestyle. Just like what you said at the beginning of this year, you need to be healthy so you can make more amazing things happen (although I changed that statement a bit).
Congratulations, Taehyung-ah, on now holding the 6th best-selling album of all time by a soloist in the history of South Korea. π₯³πππ Congratulations, too, on surpassing 1B streams on Spotify in 2023 alone, Taehyung-ah, making this year your biggest streaming year yet π₯³πππ
Congratulations, too, on continuously charting in both the UK Official Single Sales and Downloads charts for 9 weeks and counting with Slow Dancing π₯³πππ You’ve impressively made history as the only Korean act with an album landing 8 weeks on UK Official Album Downloads and you have also been the first K-pop and Korean soloist to ever have a song spend 9 weeks on both esteemed charts. Additionally, you’re the first Korean soloist to claim #1 on all 3 charts: UK Official Singles Sales, Singles Downloads, and Album Downloads, at once, and you did that for 8 consecutive weeks and counting. π₯³πππ Your Layover has also been the first K-pop album to appear in UK Official’s Top 10 chart twice and Top 20 chart 7 times. Congratulations, Taehyung-ah. π₯³πππ
Congratulations, too, on setting a new record as a Korean soloist to spend an album in the Billboard 200 chart for 7 consecutive weeks. π₯³πππ Congratulations, as well, on being the first K-pop and Korean Soloist to simultaneously chart multiple songs on Billboard Global 200 Excl. US Chart with your Love Me Again and Rainy Days, then Love Me Again and Slow Dancing for 12 consecutive weeks and counting. Currently, your Slow Dancing is charting at #67 on the chart while your Love Me Again is charting at #153. π₯³πππ Congratulations, too, on now having the 9th longest charting song by a Korean soloist on the Billboard Global 200 chart with your Slow Dancing, charting for 8 weeks straight and counting. π₯³πππ
Your Slow Dancing has a very impressive, brilliant, and creative music video, Taehyung-ah. I like how the events are played out as if they’re following your great plan, Taehyung-ah, and how the settings represent your deep dedication and grand vision for what you are doing. Sometimes, when I get caught up in the moment of complaining, I remember how you are handling your challenges, enemies, and goals, and how you are maneuvering things silently so they’ll work together for what you want later on, without saying a word about them. That’s really fantastic for me. I can’t do that though, but I think finding someone, or being enlightened by someone, who can do things that I can’t is very empowering. There are so many things to feel in awe about your Slow Dancing music video, so I’m happy and grateful that this work of art is recognized and awarded because you deserve it so much. Congratulations, once again π₯³πππ
Currently, your Slow Dancing has garnered 180M streams on Spotify and 35M streams on YouTube π₯³πππ Your live performances for this song, especially the live band, were brilliant. I think live performances with instruments are perfect for Slow Dancing. Your vocal performance for Slow Dancing on the show, The First Take, was also very praiseworthy, Taehyung-ah. πππ You’re very precise, and your deep voice is even more emotionally expressive and captivating, with your vocal performances, Taehyung-ah. I really wish to hear you more in these kinds of raw vocal performances. You also did super well with the stage performances of your B-side tracks, particularly in the visual concepts during your Korean music show appearances or performances. You’re really covering all the great directions – vocal performances, visual performances, concept-making, and genuinely and masterfully connecting with your audience. I really wish to see you performing all of them again, and it would be better in year-end awards or other shows with large and various audience, right? Also, I wish you’ll go live and not be shy in genuinely connecting with us, too, like before.
Congratulations, too, on now surpassing 280M streams on Spotify for your Singularity, your third solo to reach this milestone π₯³πππ I’ve listened to it earlier and I can always attest that you’ve got a super brilliant vocal performance in this song (as well as in Stigma). Your stage performance for this song is also such a critical acclaim, with so many experts in various countries praising your stage control. We’re all really looking forward to your concert someday, Taehyung-ah. I know you’ll mesmerize us again and again. So, you have to be healthy and happy, okay?
I hope you’ll be able to bear with your fans screaming and cheering for you. I remember the warm and enthusiastic welcome by your Japanese fans when you visited the country for the first after the pandemic. Japanese are known to be calm and quiet, but their love and admiration for you were just so loud. It’s really super incredible and admirable, too, how your Japanese fans have kept you number 1 in so many charts in the country.
Congratulations, Taehyung-ah, on setting a new record for a Korean act or Korean solo artist to have an album chart for 11 weeks on Billboard Japan Hot Albums this past decade. π₯³πππ Congratulations, too, on remaining in Japan’s Artist 100 chart for 14 weeks and counting. π₯³πππ Congratulations, too, on being topping the Nehan and Bihan (Korean Idol and Actor) polls in Japan for 136 and 132 weeks straight and counting π₯³πππ You have also topped other polls in the country including K-board and KPOP Juice.
Congratulations, too, on now having the 5th longest chart-running song by a K-pop soloist on the Global Spotify Chart with your Love Me Again, currently with 92 days and counting π₯³πππ Currently, it has over 200M streans on the platform. Your Love Me Again and Rainy Days have also debuted with 22.4M streams and 19.M millions streams on Spotify, making you hold the record for the biggest debut week for B-side tracks by an Asian soloit on the Spotify Global Weekly chart. π₯³πππ Your music video for Love Me Again remains the most viewed music video by a Korean soloist in 24 hours. You’re doing incredibly, Taehyung-ah. I love how the concept was also symbolic and sentimental. Being the first music video of your album, Layover, it also represented your album concept’s “visitation” to particular moments, places, or people and how you’re constantly traveling, since the site for this MV is a famous tourist spot in Spain. Currently, your Love Me Again music video has over 70M views on YouTube. Your vocal performance for this song is very impressive too. I hope you’ll win that grand award in MAMA’s Best Solo Vocal Performance this year. You totally deserve it. May you finally be happy, Taehyung-ah. I think you’ve not been smiling a lot in your instagram updates since the release of your album. Don’t force yourself to smile and be happy either, but I hope you’ll try to do things you love to do in real life so that all your hard work and your journey would mean so much to you as well.
Congratulations, too, on entering the Top 5 most streamed album by a K-pop soloist on Spotify history with your Layover, fantastically reaching this milestone in just 53 days. π₯³πππ With so many achievements you’ve already garnered on the platform, I wonder why you still don’t have a “This is V” playlist like all other Korean acts, and even Korean soloists. You even came to the platform before some of your co-members in BTS and yet you’re the only one who doesn’t have it yet. I really don’t want to talk about your company being unfair again, but since they ironically opened up about “fairness” against MBC, I think it’s also time they walk their talk. (Personal note: I’m actually the type who’s best in doing the talking and humbly allowing others who are best in doing the doing do the job. βοΈβοΈβοΈ) Also, so many of your fans have been regularly calling the company out to make your Artist playlist. The hashtag has also been trending for a while now on Twitter. I’m sure, there’s already an action for this, right?
Congratulations on now surpassing 360M streams on Spotify with your Christmas Tree and extending your record for having the first and only Korean OST to reach this milestone π₯³πππ It’s amazing how it’s almost 2 years since you have released this song during Christmas time, Taehyung-ah. With you showing us a clip of your recording in a studio, it’s making us super delighted and excited that you’ll gift us this Christmas. It’s been a very blessed year for you, after all, and we’re all so happy and grateful for all the blessings you’ve received this year. I wonder if you’ll rather surprise us with releasing your second album right away before this year ends. Always be happy and healthy.
I love you so much, Taehyung-ah. I, and so many of your armys, love you so much. Always remember that. May we always be your friends to make you comfortable. May we be among your many sources of strength and vitality so that you can go beyond and be successful in any endeavor youβll take this year. Weβll support you through thick and thin. Please take good care of yourself. Eat and sleep properly and keep a healthy lifestyle and optimistic mindset. May your days always be filled with happiness, graces, and blessings. May all your dreams come true and may you be happy, successful, and peaceful in 2023. πΌπ Borahae, Saranghae, Taehyung-ah. ππππππβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
